Credit Card Theft – Basic Measures To Stay Safe

What will you do when you find that your wallet or handbag containing your credit cards has been stolen? Definitely the first thing is to report the credit card theft to the provider of the credit cards so they can block access to it. It seems very logical; however did you know that you will be required to provide a battery of information before the cards will be blocked?

The basic information needed will be your name and credit card number. It will be difficult for the providers to act with the urgency required, post credit card theft, if they do not get the right information in time. Therefore, it would be in your best interest to have the credit card numbers noted somewhere in a safe place. You can, for example, send yourself an email with the details; or you can have them coded and entered in your cell phone under a fictitious name.
