Credit Repair Law – How Responsible Are You?

How responsible are you are when credit repair laws are broken by scammers? Most people would deny any responsibility, claiming that they were victimized by fraudulent credit repair companies.

Is this true? It depends. If you are looking for things that are outside the purview of the law, then you are, at least in principle, as culpable as the perpetrator himself.

The fraudulent credit repair companies exist because there is demand in the market for what they deliver. The demand comes from those who wish for – even demand – the impossible. “Fix my credit score now!”, “Remove my bankruptcy”, “Raise my score immediately” – these are some of the requests that encourage scam companies.

So why are people surprised when they are cheated? Consumers must realize that while credit repair companies perform a valuable service, they cannot perform miracles.

It’s imperative that one maintain realistic expectations in regard to improving their credit. The process takes time, and it’s just not realistic to expect overnight results.

As consumers, it would behoove us to avoid making unrealistic demands. It that were to happen, the scam artists and fraudulent companies would die a natural death!
