Most people do not pay too much attention to mail identity theft, but this is much more dangerous than it seems. For one, you are most likely to have private information somewhere in your inbox that the identity thieves can put to fraudulent use.

Another reason is that the thieves would get ahold of all your contacts and possibly financial or other sensitive information for your friends, relatives and colleagues that are listed among the correspondence in the email inbox.

Something as simple as a birthday card can be used to commit fraud. For example: Happy Birthday, Grace! Remember when we grew up on Spruce Street in New York and you fell off the bike uncle Mike bought you? I still laugh. Glad you’re moving closer to me. Can’t wait until you get to Maine!!! (We need to find me a husband) Love Always, Jane Apple.

In this one birthday card, a thief has gotten the recipients’ full name (including their maiden name), a former street name and city where they lived, two family member names, their birthday and where they will be moving to in the near future. Many of the things needed to prove identity for credit purposes at any time.

Yet another way that mail identity theft can harm you and your dear ones is when the thieves appeal to some or all of your friends/ family, seemingly on your behalf, for funds. There have been many instances where friends sent money for their “stranded friend/ family member,” only to discover later that they had been duped by hackers.

It is important, therefore, never to keep private information in your emails, even if seems innocent enough. Ensure that you delete any such email that comes with login and passwords for any financial and/ or non-financial accounts. Remember, mail identity theft can jeopardize your financial security, cause havoc among your friends and family and leave you all vulnerable to further financial devastation.

Credit card theft can be a major irritation at the very least and a massive financial blow at its worst. Say, you are travelling and your credit cards are lost or stolen. This can, and more than likely would, create a very unpleasant turn of events, even with the best help at your disposal.

The solution is to ensure that you are protected against credit card theft to the best of your ability. A few no-cost suggestions are listed below:

- Keep your credit cards carefully in a wallet or purse in front of your body instead of in your back pocket or on your shoulder.
- Take advantage of credit card fraud protection assurance from your credit card provider. In such cases, all you have to do is reach the nearest phone and inform the credit company of the loss of the card. By doing this, you would be exempt from paying for any purchases made after the company was informed of the loss.
- Have the number on hand (more than likely toll free) and/or any other means to contact the credit card provider. Remember if you lose the card- how will get the number off the back of the card?
- Photocopy your credit cards for ready reference of the numbers and other details in the event of credit card theft. Also photocopy all identifications in the event that those are lost as well, in order to prove your identity.

Voluntary bankruptcy is a court proceeding that someone with more debt than they can pay initiates the process instead of any irate creditor. In this case, the debtor declares that he/ she is finding it impossible to pay their outstanding debts, and therefore is seeking protection from debtors through the intervention of the court. The court would then look into the petition and could approve or deny the voluntary bankruptcy request.

The cost and process of voluntary bankruptcy differs very much from that of an involuntary bankruptcy. Before you decide to make use of this legal proceeding, you need to understand the pros and cons of such process. Each state has its own rules, so ensure that you do sufficient research and weigh your options carefully. Bankruptcy follows filers for a very long time and is not a process that should be undertaken haphazardly.

If approved, the court would then decide what assets would be sold to enable the creditors to recover whatever possible of their outstanding debt; and what assets would be protected under a clause known as “minimum livelihood necessities.” Voluntary bankruptcy is a double-edged sword to be used with extreme caution. It is best to seek the advice of a well- qualified, experienced attorney to guide you through understanding the process before you decide to file for voluntary bankruptcy.

One of the most effective ways to protect yourself from credit fraud is to activate a credit theft alert on your credit file. How does this work? Or better still does this really work?

Credit fraud alert is an extra precaution added by the credit bureaus for your protection. This means that whenever there is an application made for a loan, new credit card, or any other type of credit account using your social security number- you will be contacted by phone for a one-on-one verification that the credit application is indeed being opened by you and/ or is being completed with your knowledge.

Setting the credit fraud alert is very easy. Call each of the credit bureaus fraud departments’ at the following numbers and instruct them to have your file flagged for credit fraud.

- Equifax Consumer Fraud Division (https://www.alerts.equifax.com)
Phone: 800-525-6285 or: 404-885-8000
Fax: 770-375-2821

- Experian’s National Consumer Assistance (http://www.experian.com/fraud)
Phone: 888-397-3742

- Fraud Victim Assistance Department (no online fraud alert application available)
Phone: 800-680-7289
Fax: 714-447-6034

Your credit file will be flagged within 24 hours and you will receive a confirmation by mail within 1-2 weeks. If more than 3 weeks have passed without any such written confirmation, call again to inquire about the request you initiated for credit fraud alert.

Data theft today is as easy as “stealing candy from a baby.” There are so many ways, which are used presently by hackers, to imitate the official websites of banks, email providers, lottery companies, etc. that people are finding it very difficult to distinguish between the real thing and the impostors.

Data theft is an easy crime to commit because most people do not stop to make a critical analysis regarding the inqueries that come from such websites because they look so real. As an educated consumer it is necessary to keep in mind that there is personal information that you should not provide over the phone or by email under any circumstances- especially if you did not initiate the contact. Here are some of the “not-for-disclosure” items:

- SSN number
- Customer ID and/ or password for any bank accounts, financial transactions or websites
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Yours or your mothers’ maiden names
- Your work place address
- Your residential address
- Your phone number
- Your cell phone number
- Your bank account number
- The answer to secret security questions

Beware when any entity asks you for any of the above or similar types of information. Alert the bank/ email provider/ business entity etc., through a contact which you have initiated explaining that you have received such requests and verify immediately its accuracy to prevent data theft.

The reality is that bankruptcy is not a new bed of roses, although someone in deep financial troubles can perceive this relief as such.

First of all, not everyone will qualify for bankruptcy. After the bankruptcy laws were amended in 2005, there were many sub-clauses (for example, Chapter 7) that would give consumers the ability to redress their debts without filing for bankruptcy.

Monetary Implications Of Bankruptcy

Before you file for bankruptcy you will need to undergo bankruptcy credit score counseling 180 days prior to the bankruptcy filing. You will also need a certain amount of expert legal counseling that may cost you anywhere between $1,000 to $2,000. Bankruptcy is definitely not the cheap alternative, even when you have reached the absolute rock bottom with your finances.

Credit Report/ Score Implications Of Bankruptcy

This is one of the most significant implications when filing bankruptcy as this will remain visible on your credit report to financial companies, employers and anyone else who requests your credit score report. It will take 11 years before this is removed from the report; and that is a very long time.

It is possible to improve your credit score over time with proper financial discipline and smarter financial choices. However, this a very arduous process and can have lasting effects for years to come. You must always keep in mind your financial goals and the timetable for reaching those goals before deciding which course of financial relief to utilize.

When you are trying to repair your credit score in a hurry, you tend to believe all promises made as they seem to offer you exactly what you want. Beware of such false promises because these are tell- tale signs of credit repair scams. Here are some common tactics used to defraud vulnerable consumers:

1. Second Credit Report – It is not possible to have a second credit report; not legally. If any credit repair agency claims that they can avail you of the use of a second credit report, it is definitely a credit repair scam.

2. Credit Repair Takes Time – There is no ‘urgent’ delivery in this business. If anyone tells you that they can improve your score overnight, beware; you are falling into a credit repair scam trap. Often times what the fraudulent company does is dispute every blemish on the credit report which gives the illusion of a repaired report. However, once the investigation is completed by the credit reporting agency and by whomever the debt is owed, it will be clear that this was a fraudulent attempt at raising the consumers credit report or to eliminate a debt by committing fraud. Remember, any and all actions done on your behalf are ultimately your responsibility and you will have to face the consequences for illegal actions taken on your behalf. Often times by the time you realize that you have been a victim of a credit repair scam- the agency is long gone with your money and leaves you with no ability to trace them down.

3. Credit Repair Emails – Are you getting offers via email that seem too good to be true? They are exactly that; they are lies. Be very wary of such emails. Never give any financial information through such emails, or any email that was not initiated by you through a secure and verified website. Also, be very careful as to how and when you respond to emails requesting your sensitive financial information, a copy of your identification or a request for your previous address or your mother or fathers information. Sometimes the simplest piece of information in the wrong hands can cause a catastrophic financial blunder that can be difficult to recover from.

There are an estimated 1 trillion credit card holders in the world today – as this is the most convenient way to shop in this technological age.

Credit cards are used for a large gamut of services – not only for buying goods and services online and offline. In many places, credit cards serve as proof of ID. Paypal, for example, requires you have a valid credit card before they approve your account. With the immense acceptance and popularity of this mode of payment came the potential for credit card fraud.

Be aware that banks have introduced a second and third layer of Payer Authentication System PIN that will protect the payer at a different level while paying for goods and services online. However, credit card fraud is still possible during offline transactions. How do you prevent that? Here are some tips to help keep consumers aware of the transactions on their accounts before a statement is mailed out:

1. Check when signing the counter slip that the amount is correct. Also ensure that you are not inadvertently signing two copies of an original receipt which can then be used to purchase goods under your available credit.
2. Subscribe to sms to your mobile phone for every transaction made. This allows you to keep track of your spending in real time.
3. Have the credit card company provider verify when payment are requested over a reasonable limit, say $200. What this means is that the credit card company will call you before they will approve any transaction over the set limit, allowing you to catch potentially fraudulent activity.

Yes, it is. In fact, identifying areas for dispute on a credit report is one of the most important facets of credit repair. Why is this necessary? Think of the errors that creep into your credit report as a leaking bucket. If you do not fix the hole, you will lose precious water and never be able to completely carry a full bucket. Errors on your credit report work in much the same manner because those minor errors are constantly draining your financial potential a little bit at a time.

Any error, no matter how small, needs to be removed from your credit report because the error has the potential to connect with some flaw or mishap and affect your credit score negatively at any time in the future. Also, you will be amazed to see how many times just removing bad entries can boost someones credit score.

It is not difficult to remove errors, still very few consumers follow through with the process. Some consumers do not follow through just because they hate writing letters, feel intimidated by the process and even more find it difficult to follow up on the status of their letters. Do not worry if disputing credit report entries is not on your favorite ‘to do’ list. Hire a reputed credit repair agency and leave the process to them.

Most people who have a low credit score feel that they cannot find credit lenders in the market any longer. This is not true. You can. There are plenty of poor score credit lenders out there who make a living by catering to this corner of the market. It is not very difficult to find these lenders either. Here are a few methods that can help you:

1. Debt counselors – These are the agencies who have answers to all your debt questions, including the “where do I go for credit now?” one. Debt counselors can put you in touch with experienced debt consolidation agencies, credit repair agencies and poor score credit lenders. Debt counselors are the leaders in guidance when you want to eliminate your outstanding debts.

2. The Internet – Use the Internet as your main ally. You will find answers to many of your debt and credit lender questions with a google or Bing search. With the help of the data on the internet you can figure out which are the lenders that offer the best rates and how best you can negotiate for these rates.

3. Your old creditors – Most of the time, old creditors are willing to renegotiate your debts so you can pay them off and even reestablish lines of credit with them.

Can your credit score be raised quickly? That really depends by what you define as “quickly.” You can fix your credit score with time but the soonest you will see actual results, if you are choosing lawful methods, is about 3-6 months. This is because your credit score reflects your credit history and financial habits. Therefore, you need to create “good” history before it improves and this cannot be done sooner than three months have passed.

Therefore, my sincere advice is never to sign up with any credit repair agency that promises you overnight results. This can not happen. If it does, it is done unlawfully and you definitely do not want to be a part of such dealings. Some credit repair companies dispute all negative entries on the credit reports, which indeed brings the score up almost overnight. However, when the disputes are checked and found to be correct, you will be in worse trouble than when you started. Doing business in this manner may make the debtors reluctant to work with you to find reasonable solutions to your financial troubles.

Be careful that you do not sign up with fraudulent credit repair companies. Also, be informed about how the credit repair company you choose will actually go about repairing your score. Ultimately, all actions taken on your behalf will become actions presumed to be taken by you. You might be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

If you are in need of credit repair counseling- do not wait any longer. Most people fear credit repair scams and therefore choose to handle their credit repair issues themselves. Don’t let yourself be intimidated into further financial destruction! Rather Instead, educate yourself on how to differentiate between a scam and a genuine credit repair offer. Professional help will not only help you pay less on your outstanding debts by re-negotiating with your creditors, but can also offer you free debt counseling which can prove invaluable in the future.

While it is true that there are many credit repair scams out there, you can still find it relatively easy to identify the genuine ones. Seek word of mouth recommendations and or by investigating credentials and past success stories. Be sure that you verify the references the agency or counselor and only after you are thoroughly convinced of their efficiency, should you go ahead and ask for their assistance.

There are still plenty of people who make tons of money through credit repair fraud. Sad but true. These con men hope to find people who are upset and desperate about their income and debt positions. Many victims are acutely depressed and consider themselves’ complete failures, which is exasperated when they realize they have been duped. Conmen have a knack for identifying people with these vulnerabilities and targeting them.

Pay attention to these three very obvious scams and identify credit repair fraud before it traps you into doing something you will regret later. Here are 3 warning signs for you:

1. You are promised things that are “too good to be true” – This is a major warning sign. Do not believe that your credit score can change overnight.

2. You are asked to pay all fees upfront. Not only is requiring fees to be paid upfront illegal but it can also cause further financial hardship.

3. You are told you could use someone else’s Secret Security Number – This is obviously contrary to acceptable credit repair practices and can be punished severely by both federal and local authorities for credit repair fraud.

Perhaps you’re asking yourself, how would I even know if my credit report is accurate?

The answer is simple, you ask for a copy of your credit report. Legally, every consumer is entitled to one free credit report annually from each of the three credit bureaus and therefore, if you plan your requests accordingly, you can have one credit report every four months. Although the bureaus are different, they maintain more or less the same standards when calculating the credit score. That means you can keep a close eye on the things that creep in on your credit report, enabling you to appeal inaccuracies almost immediately.

It is very important to write to the credit bureau as soon as the discrepancy appears on your report. If you are not comfortable with writing credit dispute letters yourself, seek the assistance of a credit repair agency or counselor.

Most people are so eager to increase their credit score that it has become quite easy for scam artists to dupe unsuspecting consumer. Many people feel that they would never fall victim to such a scam and therefore are not leery of offers which seem “too good to be true. Do not let yourself be swayed by unreasonable promises. When someone claims that a credit score can be raised almost overnight, stop and consider all the facts. Of course it sounds like a great opportunity, if it’s true, but it is realistic?

A credit score is the result of an analysis of your past financial transactions and habits. How can you fast-forward or rewind the required time in order to increase your credit score within legal parameters? Any claim that says increasing your score rapidly is possible is false and greatly over exaggerated. Investigate how this agency proposes to achieve these results. Remember that you will be responsible legally and financially if there is any unlawful activity involved in this process.

You can increase your credit score, but this takes time and effort. Many times, before a consumer can begin to increase their credit score they meet with a financial advisor in order to understand the financial blunders that led to the low credit score.

If you ever receive an offer from a credit card provider with terms that seem “too good to be true,” stop right there in your tracks and review each line of the credit card terms carefully, inspect the contents of each paper and look for red flags. Red flags include but are not limited to spelling and grammar errors, private emails listed as company emails, and inconsistent information. This could be one of the hundreds of credit card scams that cyber- criminals use to steal an unsuspecting consumers’ identity.

Criminals often use this ruse to tempt people into divulging vital, private financial information (required when you apply for a credit card), which they in turn use to file for legitimate credit. Using this information it is possible for a criminal to steal everything you have saved in your bank account and cause financial devastation.

Another common use for private financial information used by thieves is to obtain loans. These loans become your responsibility unless you catch the thief or thwart their efforts before too much damage has been done.

There are many credit card scams that circulating; be careful that you do not fall prey to them by staying alert and careful. Ensure that you do not divulge your private financial information to unsolicited sources.

The advertisements for payday lending are so attractive that even those who do not need the money are tempted to apply. Be aware that these loans are great only when you are indeed in sudden need of cash. In fact, finding yourself needing money so badly that you have to apply for payday lending should tell you that you have deviated from the proper financial management principles.

Avail of this loan ONLY if you could indeed repay it on time. Non-payment, deferral, delay all will impact your credit score. A better option to payday lending is setting up a savings account for such crisis management needs. Aim at putting aside about 10-12 times your monthly income. This savings fund should carry you over not only in sudden financial crisis, but can also act as a stand-by financer for short vacations when you simply need to get away. So, putting a little aside for a rainy day will not only save you from payday lending, but also provide you with much needed recreation and rest from time to time.

Credit cards are among the most dangerous addictions of the present generation. Like many things in life, if used correctly and in very small amounts, credit cards can be beneficial. However, with the minimal use comes the craving for more and more, and suddenly you find yourself totally and hopelessly addicted and incapable of escape.

Are you a victim to this 21st century poison? If yes, it is time to get help. In most cases, the decision to get help takes so long that in the end there is nothing to salvage. Do not wait for that point. As soon as you feel that you are not able to manage your credit cards payments, seek help. Do not wait until such time when bailing out becomes impossible.

There is plenty you can do to stop walking into complete financial disaster. The key to finding the answer is seeking help at the earliest possible sign of problems with your credit cards.

If you have ever experienced credit card theft, you already understand how important it is to prevent credit card theft in the first place. There are many things you can do post the theft to ensure that you do not end up paying for what the thief buys and to ease the mental agony you may suffer.

1.Keep your cards in a secure location. Whether you carry a wallet or handbag, the credit card should be kept in places where they are not easily accessible and/or visible. In 7 out of 10 cases, the theft was due to temptation. The thief observed the credit card and found it easy enough to steal it.

2.Do not leave your wallet/ handbag unattended. Once again – this is temptation. Keep your wallet/ handbag with you at all times especially in public places such as shopping malls, restaurants, etc.

3.Activate cell-phone acknowledgements for every purchase with credit card. Sometimes prevention of credit card theft involves more subtle measures. People can charge your credit card twice, or charge you for other items while you are paying for something you purchased. If your cell phone notifies you every time you make a swipe, you will know about such fraud as it happens.

Credit card theft is a very common crime today. Even so, most people do not know what to do to minimize their losses. Here is what you should do when you find your credit card is lost or stolen:

1.Call the bank immediately to report the loss. This is very important as most banks will block the credit card from further use within minutes of the reported loss. This limits your liability to the minimum.

2.Inform the police. The police have ways to track the movement of the card which enables the recovery of the card and of the suspect. For example, they can ask the vendor to delay the payment on the card until they (the police) can arrive and arrest the person who tries to use the credit card unauthorized.

3.Request a replacement of the card. The sooner you do this, the sooner you will get back to normal.

Did you know that most people find out about identity theft problems years after it actually occurred? This is because people do not usually perform a routine identity theft check. Most people are content with just a perfunctory glance at their bank statement and credit card bills. Very few sit down and tally bill for bill or entry against expenses.

Criminals count on this lethargy people feel for identity theft checks. Most people do not “blow a hole in the wall” when they get access to your financial account. They rather milk your account slowly yet steadily, for a long-term residual income.

When at last you wake up to the problem, it will most likely not be due to an identity theft check, but will usually be due to some alert from a bank.

You want to reduce the risk of victimization in this matter, ensure that you carry out a regular and thorough identity theft check.

There are many bankruptcy myths that you need to clarify before going through the process. You might be filing for bankruptcy governed by one or more such myths and it will be too late when discover reality after you complete the process.

One of the most popular bankruptcy myths is that you can start with a clean credit slate. Nothing is further from truth. You will in fact, carry the stigma of being a risky investment for 10 long years once you have filed for bankruptcy.

Another popular bankruptcy myths is that all your debts will be discharged after the filing. Again, the truth is different. Certain debts such as alimony, child support and student loans do not come under the purview of the bankruptcy filing.

Another very dangerous bankruptcy myths is that if one’s spouse files for bankruptcy, the other will not be affected. Wrong – if there are joint accounts, it will affect the spouse.

Credit card fraud is when somebody uses your credit card without your authorization. This could happen in many ways:
* When your card has been stolen
* If your card was swiped twice for the same amount
* If your card was used by Internet hackers
* If your card was used without your knowledge by your children/ spouse/ friends who have access to you purse or handbag

One of the easiest ways to prevent such fraud – or at least keep it to a minimum – is to have the provider send you SMS alerts on your cell phone every time your card is charged.

This has two benefits :
(1) it keeps a close tab on your balance available, and

1.There is no guaranteed outcome; if there is any guarantee related to repairing of credit repair, you are walking into a credit repair scam.

2.There is no quick-fix outcome; if anyone tries to convince you that this process can be fast-forwarded, beware! He or she will be promoting some type of illegal ploy.

3.You cannot change your SSN number, nor can you have get a “new credit report.” If the agency offers you a “new identity” or “new lease on life” beware! … this is highly improper and illegal.

We all know that identity theft has become one of the biggest menaces on and off the Internet. Are you doing anything about it? Unless you have some identity theft guard in place, you too are likely to be a victim at some time or other.

There will come a day when, like the installation of anti virus software, you will have something that guards you and your computer from identity theft. Until then, you should use your common sense and stay alert. Your best identity guard theft is your own alertness!

Most identity thefts occur when the hackers send you a link that opens a cloned website that looks identical to that of your bank or email id provider, and asks you to fill in personal information for verification/ upgrading/ re-registration and so on. You need to make it a rule to NEVER give any personal information, especially passwords or ATM / debit or credit card numbers to anyone over the Internet or the telephone. While shopping online, ensure that the site is encrypted and marked so by Verisign – there will be a tiny yellow lock in the lower right hand corner of the page.

Do you know how to stay safe by preventing credit card theft?

First of all, never carry more than one card with you.
Secondly, ensure that you do not have any pin number or any other such vital information in the same place as the card.
Third, register in your cell phone the customer service phone number where you can inform within minutes if there is a credit card theft.

Know what the formalities are, how long it takes and what it takes to get a replacement. It’s very frustrating to re-issue a credit card. Therefore, you need to be aware of the process and the time the process takes. Always have the card scanned and stored in your email inbox so you can provide the details of the stolen card with accuracy and speed

The best you can do when you need a guide to credit repair is to seek out a reputable credit repair agency. They can do the job for you well, and you need not upset yourself over such tiresome matters.

Credit repair is not really easy to learn or do in spite of popular belief. It takes a lot of time and experience to be able to strike the right balance between what you need to write, when, and to whom. Why do you think there are so many credit repair agencies coming up? The demand for this type of work is extremely high, but that definitely does not justify the falsehood that thrives in the name of a credit repair guide

Be very careful that you choose a good company either through personal references of friends, and/or through patient and careful research on the Internet.

When your credit score is low and you have to visit poor credit lenders, you often feel optimistic about the outcome. However, you need to know that poor credit lenders always take maximum advantages of the situation.

In order to ensure that you get what you are entitled to, you will have to fight tooth and nail with the lenders. Your arsenal should consist of various interest rates, terms, and conditions, which others in the market offer. Choose the most competitive prices and best reputation.

Bargain hard for the lowest possible terms of payment. Most people shy away from bargaining for a better price because they are already intimidated by circumstances. However, unless you do so, how can you hope for the best outcome?

Do not pity them. Poor credit lenders make huge profit from this type of business. Ensure that your interests are always taken care of. Remember: you are still a customer!

It’s very vital that you report identity theft whenever and wherever you see it. Many people feel awkward reporting id theft of other people when they find it out. In most cases, they will justify their inaction, shrugging to say, “I was not completely sure.” Such inaction allows thieves to escape.

To prevent id theft it’s important that you keep close track of all your financial transactions, especially on credit cards and debit cards. It’s a good idea to keep the receipts of all the purchases you make, so you can check all the entries on your billing statement. In most cases, identity theft is done with great finesse and it can go on forever. Only close scrutiny will point you to the fraud.

It’s very important that you immediately report identity theft to your creditors, and even credit bureaus as any failure in repayments and excess debts can harm your credit score. Stay alert – and stay safe!

Credit card theft can happen to anyone. You may have your credit cards stolen or lose them somewhere. What you do when you realize their loss is critical to cutting your losses. Common sense dictates that you inform the provider instantly. But before you do so you need to have a certain amount of information ready for verification. This is why, if you use and carry credit or debit cards, you need to have a list with the following information:

1. Card number, date of issue, expiry date, and the secret number (3 numbers) on the back of the card.
2. The 24×7 telephone number of the credit or debit card provider and their email id
3. The direct contact person for the “human touch” and reporting in case the automated call center line is not responding
4. An alternative source for urgent payments until the credit/debit cards are re-issued

It’s difficult to get a credit card if you have a bad credit score, but definitely not impossible. The most common way is to get a “secured” card.

With a secured credit card you deposit funds into a bank account and the provider offers you credit with your deposit as collateral. This is a good solution when you are looking to increase your credit limit and score by some clever financial manipulations.

A second way is to have a relative or spouse have you as an add-on to their credit cards. The positive things here is that you can use the credit card without any problem; however, the positive or negative points for timely payment/non-payment of the bills will go to the main owner of the card. You are not affected by the transactions.

The third way to obtain a credit card with a bad credit score, is by looking up introductory offers where people with poor credit are wooed. Such cards almost always have a low cap and higher interest rate – but at least you can have a credit card!

How will you know which credit repair company out there will extend their services to you in an ethical manner? Given the fact that most people are in the dark about what credit repair services involve, it’s no surprise that choosing of the “right” agency is often based on guesswork. The result is that many people are cheated out of their hard earned money at a time when they can ill-afford it, and get no benefit whatsoever.

This can be avoided if more and more people perform a simple check on the background of the credit repair company they wish to engage. Run a search on Google with the prefix ‘scam’ or ‘fraudulent’ and you’ll have your answer in seconds.

Another way to ensure good and legal service is check whether they are affiliated to regulatory bodies of repute such as the ECRA (Ethical Credit Repair Alliance) and the BBB (Better Business Bureau)

Americans have the greatest number of credit cards per person; we are are also the people who have the most bankruptcies due to “plastic money.”

When you find yourself stuck with credit card bills that you cannot pay, take immediate remedial action. The biggest mistake you can make here is wait; every month that passes compounds the interest that you owe, decreasing your ability to pay off the debts even further.

Here’s what you should do:

1. Organize your money to pay all the dues in full. Preferably the money should come from low interest sources such as banks or friends. Remember you are paying about 13% compound interest on the credit card dues. This is HUGE!

2. Debt consolidation is better than bankruptcy. Unless you find a way to pay off the debts, these will soon engulf you and force you into bankruptcy. Do not let this happen.

How and where do you get poor credit-credit cards? Did you know that credit cards are the root of most of the financial troubles for people all over the world? More than 68% of people who file for bankruptcy in the USA quote credit cards as the main factor.

Why then should you look for credit cards? Is it not better that you avoid them altogether?

The positive aspect of any credit card is that it raises your credit limit and therefore it can boost your debt to credit limit ratio. Timely payment of bills will also improve your credit report rating. Therefore, it’s useful to obtain a credit card – and use it properly – when you have little or no credit history.

Poor-credit credit cards are a little more difficult to obtain, but often worth the trouble. When you find it difficult, apply for a secured credit card instead of a regular one; it will work just as fine.

This is a question that plagues not only those who have poor credit but also those who maintain a good score. Everyone wants to be a little better off her, because it translates into better interest rates and overall, many perks while availing of loans.

When you ask yourself, “how to improve my credit”, the first thing that comes to the mind is “use credit cards sparingly.” More than two thirds of people who declare bankruptcy at one time or another in their lives, do so because they abuse their credit cards. Make it a point to use credit cards only when it’s absolutely necessary.

Another point that you need to keep in my mind here is that you should always, without exception, pay your credit card bills in full. In this way, you’ll not be caught in the debt trap of paying 3 percent compound interest on the outstanding balance.
